The Sun and Your Skin

Many people do not realize that the majority of skin aging that occurs in one’s lifetime is due to sun damage.  While we need the sun in small quantities to make vitamin D, over exposure can be very dangerous for the health of our skin.

When it comes to skin care advice about the sun, the best advice one can give you is to stay away.  While a golden tan might be desirable for many, know that this leads to sun damage, skin discoloration, wrinkles and sagging skin.  It is best to wear large brimmed hats, protective clothing and sunscreen.  But don’t think sunscreen completely protects you.  There are many interactions and consequences from the daily use of sunscreen.  This is why it is really best to wear hats, and long sleeves.  While it might not be as fun today, tomorrow you will be happy you did!
