Crowd Sourcing: The New Big Thing

Crowd sourcing refers to the business practice of distributing a work load among many people in order to get a better result. To think of it from a computer point of view, it is the processor distributing workload among its cores. One application of crowd sourcing is a distributed news network. This would allow users to publish content about daily events, whether local or global. However, not only one user would publish the story. Many users would publish the same story. This allows a user of the site to read many versions of the same story and sift the fact from the fiction. This is not only a good tactic, it is a perfect way to learn about current events. Because, all news stations have one motive: increasing viewers to increase advertising revenue. That’s why shock news is so prevalent. However, users on this site would have no incentive to increase ratings.
