Kind words from the Cleveland Council of World Affairs

Wow. Here’s another newsletter re: a recent MTB interview:

This past March, the Cleveland Council on World Affairs was pleased to host a delegation of 24 Foreign Service Nationals participating in a State Department job training program on Information and Media Training. The delegates are all staff members of press offices of US Embassies abroad and serve as a bridge between the embassy and foreign publics. While in Cleveland, the group had an opportunity to meet with Meet the Bloggers (www.meetthebloggers.net) for a candid conversation that touched on many issues, including the role of blogs and other new media around the world, a comparison of new media to both Colonial pamphleteers and ancient philosophers, and the use of blogs to spread information and counter extremists. One of the Foreign Service Nationals was so inspired that he started his own blog immediately after the discussion (thanks to Tim Ferris for helping with set-up!).

Thank you to local bloggers (and blog-readers) Gloria Ferris, Tim Ferris, Roger Bundy, Angela Shuckahosee, Len Steinbach, Jeff Buster and Rick Weiss for participating in the discussion. Special thanks goes to Gloria Ferris for coordinating the Meet the Bloggers session and to the Residence Inn Cleveland Downtown for providing the group with a wonderful meeting space.

Keep up the good work, my friends.
