The proponents of SB 117 say it is meant to increase competition among video providers, provide choice to and protect consumers. In fact, it would achieve none of these goals. Instead, it would enable discriminatory deployment, eliminate consumer protections, and strip Ohio municipalities of their important role in the local video franchise process…

    I am a member of the Akron Board of Education. We use our public access chanel for many educational programs every day and it will be a great loss to the community and our over 24,000 students to lose our public access time. Please vote against SB117.
