Capri Cafaro v. the bloggers

An excerpt from the Capri Cafaro transcript:

Scott Piepho: Scott Piepho again, Pho’s Akron Pages. I want to go back to the SAW proposal, in particular the tax subsidy proposal. I’ve tried to do some research on this on-line, and I don’t know if it’s just I’m Googling the wrong phrase or not. Is there some place where this has been studied and the bean counters have counted the numbers? Is this just coming out of your campaign, or is there a think tank somewhere who has but this together?

Capri Cafaro: There is no think tank as far as I know. I mean if you found somebody, let me know, because we need somebody…

Scott Piepho: What’s your cost estimate?

Capri Cafaro: We do have to go that route. I mean we do have to figure out exactly how much it’s going to cost and how long we would have to sustain this tax credit to make…

Scott Piepho: To start off with, you could look at… As I understand it, you’re using a current statutory definition of American-made goods.

Capri Cafaro: That’s right.

Scott Piepho: A certain amount of American-made content…

Capri Cafaro: Exactly. Exactly.

Scott Piepho: Ok, so have you looked at just right now what the market for American-made goods in America is, and how much it would cost just to subsidize that?

Capri Cafaro: We do have…

Vic Rubenstein: We have been working on this like today.

Scott Piepho: Ok.

Tim Russo: Ah, Vic, we’re not interviewing you. We’re interviewing Capri.

Wow…I am tired of hearing the “what can you as a young person do in congress”…especially with the dubious ethical standards of the “experienced” legislators.

    Sad, sad, sad…

The interview with Capri Cafaro is about 24 minutes, but she takes up the first 8 minutes or so talking about her “unique” education. While discussing this enlightened education, she interspersed “you know” into virtually every other sentence. One would think with such a wonderful educational background, Capri might have learned to speak off the cuff with more polished speech.
